Important Information Regarding All Shipments to Qatar: Prohibited Articles
All pornographic literature, videos, films, pictures, and any items made out of ivory
Alcoholic beverages, large quantities of food products, medicines, medical drugs, and medications
Wireless transmitters, walkie-talkies, etc
Firearms, ammunition, explosives, and any weapons (including decorative items such as swords and daggers)
Product of Israeli origin/manufacture, or any items on the Israeli blacklist
All narcotics and drugs, e.g., dried poppy flowers, can lead to severe legal action and lengthy prison sentences.
Political or religious literature is deemed offensive to the Qatar Government or the Islamic Faith.
Any art, such as statues, paintings, etc., deemed offensive to the Qatar Government of the Islamic Faith.
This list is our best attempt to describe items that are not allowed, but be aware that Qatar Customs officers occasionally decide what is and is not permitted. This is not within our agent’s control.
Our Agent’s services do not include working with Customs and various ministries to appeal for getting confiscated or prohibited items back, or arranging re-export of these items. We will try to assist, but we cannot guarantee any actions, and fees and charges will apply.
Original Commercial Invoice, duly authenticated by the Chamber of Commerce in the exporting country, with total amount value and currency, invoice number, HS code, terms of shipment, country of origin, quantity, gross weight, and original exporter stamp/seal and authorized signature.
Certificate of Origin, duly authenticated by the Chamber of Commerce in the exporting country. The COO should have a 100% correct invoice number, gross weight, and country of origin. If in the EU, the specific country in the EU must be specified.
The packing List includes the total number of packages, gross weight, net weight, dimensions, and original exporter stamp/seal with signature. The packing list should have the invoice number mentioned.
Gross weight in the packing list should have a unit (Lbs or Kg) mentioned correctly.
All document details, i.e., invoice, packing list, and COO details, should match the contents in the Bill of Lading.
All items should have “made in” marked on them. The Qatar Customs law says only EMBOSSED/ENGRAVED/DIGITALLY PRINTED “MADE IN country” should be on each item.
Physically, what is marked on the cargo should also be on the COO
No ZERO value invoices will be accepted by Qatar Customs, even if the goods are samples or replacement orders. The value should be in USD.
Compliance with the Above Requirements
Clients who fail to comply with the above-required documents or ship prohibited goods will be held liable for all costs of fines, goods, and expenses incurred for the entire container.
